156 projects in 35 states. 207,000 acres worth more than $323 million. 5,000 jobs created or kept. These are a few of the facts and figures contained in The Conservation Fund’s 2019 Annual Report, which is now available online. Founded in 1985, the Fund collaborates with public, private, and nonprofit partners to make conservation work for America by creating solutions that simultaneously further environmental and economic goals. One of the many highlights of the report is that the organization’s Working Forest Fund acquired almost 80,000 acres of high conservation value forestland, facilitated the protection of nearly 30,000 acres under conservation, and conveyed more than 26,000 acres of forestland to long-term stewards. All told, the organization has protected more than 8 million acres in all 50 states since its founding by MacArthur Foundation Fellow Patrick Noonan.
